There’s never been a more important time for young people to feel like their voice matters. Knowing your self-worth and the power of your voice is traced back all the way to childhood, which is why I wrote Use Your Voice.
With simple language and bright colors, this book is an interactive storytime book to read together at home or in the classroom. Kids can chime in say aloud their name, age, favorite food, and more. This book empowers them to become more vocal and confident in their voice and identity.
With over forty 5-star reviews on Amazon, this book has become a favorite among kids, who love to read this book again and again. The target age is 2-5 years old, when they are just beginning to understand more about the world and themselves.
My favorite line in the book says: “Use your voice to say what you want and what you don’t want.” There is power in saying yes to the things we want, and no to what we don’t want – even as adults!
The inspiration for this book came from my own journey to find my voice and take some big leaps of faith in my career path. In our culture, I believe that it is easy for our voices to be silenced or to feel afraid to speak up about how we really feel. I’m learning to use my voice to express who I am and what I want with stronger conviction.
I wish I had learned these lessons earlier in life, and that is why I feel so passionately about sharing them with kids through books.
